2013 marked the 50th anniversary for Kilburn Crash Repairs, a milestone Alf and Johnny are proud to have reached together. As one of South Australia's oldest family owned and operated collision repairers the team at KCR are regarded as specialists in the collision repair industry.
50 years on and still going strong, Kilburn Crash is in it’s second generation of ownership and management. Alf handed over control of the business to his son Johnny and the father-and-son pair still work together every day. Johnny and the KCR team believe in blending old fashioned service and craftsmanship learned from Alf, with new repair technology and materials, ensuring KCR keeps up with changes in the industry and technical advancements in vehicle manufacture.
The road traveled by Kilburn Crash Repairs over the past 50 years has been long and the business has been witness to many changes along the way.The type and technological nature of vehicles has changed dramatically, as have the expectations of our clients and our work providers. Legislation and other outside influences have forced our industry as a whole to review the way we operate within the community.
From humble beginnings in the 60’s Alf and his team started out repairing the likes of the early FB Holden, the Ford Falcon and the classic Chryslers and Valiants of the era. KCR now regularly repairs late model domestic and imported vehicles including state-of-the-art European and hybrid-electric vehicles.
Fortunately, over the decades some things have not changed in the slightest.The repair and service philosophy of KCR remains the same today as it did in the 60’s;
